Work process
LOW voltage wayleaves
Step 1. FREE ELIGIBILITY CHECK
We carry out a free no-obligation check to see if your property qualifies for a claim.
Step 2. AUTHORITY TO ACT
To progress the claim we ask you to sign an Authority to Act on your behalf
Step 3. LAND REGISTRY VALIDATION
Land Registry checks are carried out to validate ownership and check for existing legal rights for the equipment
Step 4. CLAIM SUBMITTED
A claim is submitted to the appropriate District Network Operator on your behalf
Step 5. RECEIVE WAYLEAVE
The District Network Operator sends The Powerline Advisory Group to ensure the equipment and payment noted is accurate. This is then sent to you for signature
Step 6. PAYMENT IS MADE
Once the Wayleave has been signed by you it is forwarded on to the District Network Operator to countersign and make payment

Step 2. AUTHORITY TO ACT
To progress the claim we ask you to sign an Authority to Act on your behalf
Step 3. LAND REGISTRY VALIDATION
Land Registry checks are carried out to validate ownership and check for existing legal rights for the equipment
Step 4. Valuation
A valuation noting the estimated loss in value caused by the equipment is undertaken. A site visit may be required at this stage which will be arranged with you beforehand
Step 5. CLAIM SUBMITTED
A claim is submitted to the appropriate District Network Operator on your behalf
Step 6. DNO Agent Appointed
The District Network Operator will appoint an agent (internally or externally) to handle your claim. They may also require a site visit to assess the impact.
Step 7.Offer made
The appointed agent will make an offer to reflect the rights to retain the equipment noted in the wayleave. We will contact you to advise on the offer
Step 8. RECEIVE WAYLEAVE
Once an offer has been accepted the District Network Operator will send the wayleave to The Powerline Advisory Group to check before forwarding to you for approval
Step 9. PAYMENT IS MADE
Once the Wayleave has been signed by you it is forwarded on to the District Network Operator to countersign and make payment

Step 8. Solicitors appointed
Once an offer has been accepted you will need to appoint a solicitor to complete the Deed of Easement. The Disctrict Network Operator cover the reasonable legal costs and we will recommend firms of solicitors that are experienced and willing to work within the fees paid by the district network operator.
Step 9. PAYMENT IS MADE
Following completion of the Deed of Easement you will be paid the net compensation.
